Not All Compression Garments Work The Same...

Most people don't realize there are two very different kinds of compression — and wearing the wrong one won't actually help. As certified fitters, we match you to the right compression, whether that's ready-to-wear or custom.

Two Types of Compression Garments

Lymphedema and Lipedema Compression

Flat-knit compression designed for lymphedema and lipedema.

Custom-made garments provide a precise, supportive fit tailored to your measurements and needs.

We currently offer Compression Garments from Jobst and Bauerfeind.

Vein Support, Travel & Everyday Compression

Circular-knit compression ideal for venous insufficiency, travel, prolonged standing, and everyday support.  Available in ready-to wear or custom options. Compression levels available in Performance and Prescription compression levels.

We currently offer Compression Garments from Jobst, Bauerfeind, and Lunatik Athletiks.

Lymphedema and Lipedema Compression FAQ's

  1. Schedule a time earlier in the day if possible, when your swelling is usually at its lowest so we can obtain the most accurate measurements. We will take detailed measurements directly on your skin using a tape measure so your garment can be custom‑made for your lymphedema/lipedema.
  2. Wear shorts or loose pants/clothing that allows full access to the entire leg from foot to upper thigh and, for pantyhose, up to the hip/waist.
  3. Avoid applying heavy creams or oils to your skin on the morning of your appointment.
  4. Bring any current compression garments you use so we can review what has and hasn’t worked well for you.
  5. Bring the prescription for your compression garments so we can ensure your order matches your prescriber’s recommendations.  We require a copy of your prescription on file.
  6. If you have insurance coverage, please be sure to confirm the amount eligible and requirements as each insurance provider is different and your responsibility to confirm.
  7. There is no fee for the fitting appointment itself.  Payment for your compression garment is due at the fitting appointment, prior to placing the order.  Orders are custom so no refunds or returns are available.  All orders are final sale.

Many extended health plans in Ontario may cover medical-grade compression garments for lymphedema or lipedema—but coverage varies by insurer and plan. We cannot guarantee reimbursement, but we can provide all the documentation you need to maximize your chances of coverage.

Verify Your Coverage BEFORE You Buy

Call your insurance provider and ask:

1. Do I have coverage for compression garments? Under which benefit category?

2. What compression strengths are covered (20–30 mmHg, 30–40 mmHg)?

3. Are custom, flat-knit garments covered, or only ready-made?

4. What documents do you need (prescription, pre-authorization, quote)?

5. What are my annual dollar and quantity limits?

6. Must the prescription be dated before purchase?
